1/2 bushel pickling cukes

Our 1/2 bushels of pickling cukes are only available briefly during the season, so make pickles while you can. 1/2 bushel of pickles is about one 4-gallon bucket, which will fill about 16 quarts or 32 pints of pickles. Our pickling cucumbers are ideal for both pickling or even fresh use for slicing or cucumbers salads. The pickles (pickling cukes) have more crunch and are firmer than the slicers, so plan accordingly. If you're making Dill pickles, don't forget Dill heads and garlic. Leave a comment as to the size you prefer. For pickle spears and bread & butter pickles, a larger size is generally used.
