“WHAT IS CSA???”
We regularly get asked this question, so here is our brief answer and explanation:
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a marketing and shopping system for farmers to sell their farm products directly to the consumer on a regular basis. This allows the CSA member to have direct access to the farm that grows their food, and provides the farmer with a stable outlet to sell produce.
“I’VE TRIED CSA’S BEFORE BUT THEY DIDN’T WORK FOR ME. WHY SHOULD I JOIN THE FOXFIRE FARM CSA???”
That is another good question. Let me tell you the Foxfire Farm difference.
The traditional CSA model is quite rigid: the consumer buys a “share” in the farm prior to the season; the farmer uses this money to start up the farm for the year; the farmer then provides (for a set number of weeks during the season) a weekly box of the farm produce to the CSA member. This weekly box may or may not meet the quality and value expectation of the CSA Member, and it may lack variety or even be too eccentric for the average eater.
!!!That CSA is NOT the Foxfire Farm CSA!!!
The Foxfire Farm CSA operates quite differently. Our CSA operates year round, so you have access to seasonally-available high-quality fresh veggies about 50 weeks of the year. We also send our seasonal farm updates and ample product list directly to your cell phone and email through weekly update text message and emails. On the weeks that you want veggies, simply select the items and quantities you want through the web-based ordering system or send us a text message response to our weekly update text. We allow our CSA Members to either prepay a lump sum and deduct their orders against the balance, or simply pay week-by-week when they pick up their order. For payment tracking, we prefer CSA Members to use the lump sum prepayment option. We have produce available 50 weeks per year, but if you are on vacation or don’t need to order one week, no problem, you don’t even need to let us know.”

We also place a 20% discount on orders picked up at our farm.
Our pickup and delivery area is limited to Casey County and Danville. If you live within easy driving distance of our farm (in central Casey Co.) or Danville, we have multiple options for pickup/delivery.
We now require a $50 deposit to join the Foxfire CSA. You can pay by cash or check in person, by mailing a check, by card, or by venmo. Our our CSA signup form has more instructions on payment. After setting up your account and completing 3 successful orders, we turn your $50 deposit into an available balance to use for further orders.
How to Sign Up
If you would like to sign up as a CSA customer, please complete our signup form.
Upon registering for an account, we will text you with further instructions and a welcome text. You will also receive follow-up emails about any additional steps needed. We will confirm your access to the site and you will then receive a welcome email. Then you can begin placing weekly orders through the login page link on the left side bar.

The PREPAY Option
To streamline your weekly pickup process, you can prepay a lump sum of between $100 and $400 through your regular payment method (check and cash preferred)*. We keep records and deduct each order, keeping you updated about your balance.
We also put a small additional credit of 2% per $100, up to 8%.
- $100 gets a 2% bonus ($2 credit).
- $200 gets a 4% bonus ($8 credit).
- $300 gets a 6% bonus ($18 credit).
- $400 gets an 8% bonus ($32 credit).
*Do note that we do not place an additional credit on card and venmo payments, as the transfer fees are significant.
Also note that, barring extenuating circumstances, prepay balances are transferable to a friend but are not refundable.
